Oh Tracy! I'm on the verge of tears. It's good to meet a fellow South African but seeing these photo's really takes me back! Gosh I haven't been to Durban in 15 years and Pick'n'Pay for about that long either. The Durban city hall has special memories for me too as I sang there as a teenager in the Natal Youth Choir. Gosh. Such a great post!! I've now joined your ranks of followers as I don't want to miss out on your blog once BBFS is finished. Thanks for the great memories!! (PS, I grew up in Pietermaritzburg mostly. Day trips to Durban were a regular feature of my childhood!)
Hi Tracy, thanks so much for stopping by my blog (apologies as this is a long overdue thanks!). And I keep meaning to mention that I have a friend who used to live in Durban (and went to school in Kwanza sp?), I know its totally unlikely that you know her, but just in case! Her name is Loren Fenton, lived in Dubai for ?maybe 10 years and has now emigrated to Australia. Its lovely to see photos of Durban! (Her daughter is Holly's BFF!)
What great pictures! Love seeing the scenery shots for sure since you're so far away! The museum looks awesome - my kid would love that! Thanks for dropping by my blog too!2
you can't beat a good game of monopoly!

ReplyDeleteLooks like a great day to have had a photography project!
