<br />
2015 ended on a quiet note here. Brenda had a few friends over for a sleepover. It was a bit of a bittersweet night since they are all turning 18 in the next few months, and I am sure that next year they will not want to spend New Years at home. Life is definitely changing. We didn't do much, just had pizza, chips etc and stayed up to watch the fireworks and have champagne at midnight. Having spent the last 5 New Years in Johannesburg I can definitely say that Durban has a lot more fireworks than Johburg. The girls of course, stayed up long after I went to bed, and Brenda only got up at midday.<br />
<br />
Today was quiet, apart from a trip to the shops to exchange the scale that I bought yesterday that was not working. <br />
I spent the day doing the obligatory reflecting on what I want to achieve for this year, as well as setting up my planner for the year. So, what I want to achieve for the year is:'<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>complete sky blanket 2016</li>
<li>eat healthier</li>
<li>read 50 books</li>
<li>plan my meals and make a concerted effort to keep some organisation in the freezer so that we actually eat what is in there!</li>
</ul>
<br />
The first square for sky blanket is complete. Partly cloudy - although it did seriously threaten to be stormy, but nothing came of it.<br />

<a href="http://youlittlesewandsew.com/2015/11/sky-blanket-2016/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img alt="http://youlittlesewandsew.com/2015/11/sky-blanket-2016/" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpuxSqpJ7Vy8xBFn_uWk8TcMZ6Z5znGFm1VN9TsaXPqHdmEDjAtVmV_kf1-x2Qe4SmBUhGvqilhlNHq4vPlOUSBVY0GRGTT8WrUEEIZu9BwSEsxpC0rk79ctT9nahVO4KiwbAxUzPHNtF1/s1600/8cf086ac-a865-4d37-a571-8662c5cb4a4e.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Until my early 20's I was mainly into wool crafts - knitting mostly, although I did do a little bit of crochet. I knitted anything - jerseys, blankets, toys for myself, friends, friends babies or really anybody who was prepared to accept them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When my daughter was born you would have thought that I would have knitted loads for her. Sadly, for some reason I stopped knitting, and have only ever knitted her one jersey, when she was about 3. I don't know if it was that I was too busy or I just got burnt out, but for years I didn't knit/crochet at all. I did still look at patterns and browse wool shops, but that was as far as it went.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After a few years I started scrapbooking and card making and approached this with the same obsession as I had the knitting in my youth. However, in time I felt the need to get back to my first love and started crocheting in 2013. Why crochet and not knitting? I think it is a little bit more portable and more forgiving in that if you drop a stitch you don't have to unravel the whole item. I have done a bit of knitting in the last few years, but mainly focused on the crochet</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At the end of 2013 on instagram I heard of the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/crochetmoodblanket2014/" target="_blank">Crochet mood blanket 2014</a> where you do a square a day based on your mood. Although I had never had any luck with year long projects of any sort, this captured my imagination and I managed to more or less keep up and actually finish in January 2015, more or less on time. When 2015 came along I decided to do a sky blanket where you do a square/stripe based on the colour of the sky. I chose to do stripes and have really battled to keep up, although I have now managed to get up to date. This photo shows my progress up to Mid October, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr3SbIliTCI4rvoa9MChTAtzQsjmxvBU4wsN2oZelJCPu0A1K6wttVlBZf7ofLXH8Ou701_hvWqjKmJzihU5Z8shvXosSqPrBncVWY6FcMqRReUmErWec0-UM9-7HxCk4-_VAN1vbxuCmC/s1600/Skyblanket2015resize.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr3SbIliTCI4rvoa9MChTAtzQsjmxvBU4wsN2oZelJCPu0A1K6wttVlBZf7ofLXH8Ou701_hvWqjKmJzihU5Z8shvXosSqPrBncVWY6FcMqRReUmErWec0-UM9-7HxCk4-_VAN1vbxuCmC/s320/Skyblanket2015resize.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Over the last few months I have been thinking about what I am going to do in 2016. One of the problems I found this year was that there were very few people doing a sky blanket and so there was none of the camaraderie that I had found in the mood blanket. One of my thoughts was to do a weather blanket, but with the mainly hot temperatures we have here, I was not sure if I would get much variety on a daily basis. Also, the traditional "hot" colours are not my favourite, I prefer the blues, pinks, lilacs etc to the reds and oranges. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
A few weeks ago, I heard that there was going to be a Sky blanket 2016 running. This is being co-ordinated by <a href="http://youlittlesewandsew.com/2015/11/sky-blanket-2016/" target="_blank">You little sew and sew</a>, <a href="http://bugbirdbee.co.uk/2015/11/15/the-sky-blanket-2016-craft-project/" target="_blank">Bug, Bird and Bee</a> and <a href="http://www.theboyandme.co.uk/2015/11/15/crochet-sky-blanket-2016/#more-20243" target="_blank">The Boy and Me.</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The basic principle is the same as my 2015 blanket. You crochet/knit/sew a stripe or block a day which reflects the colour of the sky. Initially I was a bit unsure as to whether I was going to do it again. I thought that I would get a bit bored, and also had been wanting to do the temperature blanket. However, after much thought and lots of stalking the facebook group I have decided to go ahead and join in for 2016. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Once I had decided to do it, the next thing was what form is it going to take. Well, I cant sew, so that is out. But was I going to knit or crochet and is it going to be squares or stripes. I have almost 100% decided on squares for a few reasons. Firstly, the boredom factor of doing the same thing for 2 years in a row. Secondly the rows makes a HUGE blanket. The mood blanket was a square a day and is just about double bed size. Thirdly, I did battle to complete a row each day, and got quite behind at times. Although, this was compounded by a very difficult year in other aspects of my life. However, 2016 has not started yet, so I still have time to change my mind!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Last years blankets was all blues and greys, but I decided to vary it a bit more this year. This is mainly due to inspiration from all the posts about this project. So, over the last week or so, I have been browsing the wool shops and come up with the following:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I did not originally have the apricot. I was not too sure about the orange, but it was the only reddy orange I could find, so I did a set of sample squares to see if I could live with the result and that was when I decided to add the apricot in. Also, I am a bit OCD and don't know if I could have lived with 11 colours lol.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The picture above makes the colours look slightly darker than they are, especially the school grey. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
My squares will be 3 rounds of the above pattern, and I will do 19 rows of 19 squares with 5 rows of border.</div>

Having had no reliable internet at home for a couple of years I had totally given up on blogging. I had always been meaning to get back to it, but I find it tiresome to blog from my tab or phone. Posting is not too bad, but the blog maintenance just annoyed me and any post with more than one picture was beyond me, not too mention adding links.<br />
So, what has changed now. Well, firstly the internet connection has been sorted out. We had a fixed line at home, but the box was outside our property. The box kept getting interfered with and then our line would go down. We eventually got fed up and cancelled the line, which left no internet for a while. We have since sorted this out and now have a wifi based connection, so shouldn't have any further problems.<br />
Secondly, I have finally invested in a new laptop. So, with those two things sorted out, I am now technologically enabled enough to blog.<br />
Lots of things have happened since my last blog and I am now busier than ever, but I hope to post more regularly. I haven't tried doing a daily photo for a few years but thought that since my studying is on a slight hiatus for this year I would try again. I will probably instagram my photos and then blog every few days, but really hope to keep this up. I do have a funny story to tell about this post. I am currently staying at my sister's and so do not have access to my computer. I cannot seem to sign into blogger on my tab, so spent a long time trying to work out how to post this. I eventually decided to email the post to my phone so that I could email it to my blog. Just after I pressed send I clicked how silly I was being, why couldn't I email directly to blogger from my tab! Shows how untechnologically minded I am! <br> </p> Tracyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02569476871548177182noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6824996057166638084.post-5022725910462126252014-01-02T13:09:00.001+02:002014-01-02T13:09:14.447+02:00Happy New Year and 1 little word<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgek4CtmS9dSSCf9XDnwmYchZ5cMfexuV61ctsBi69AgHAz7mMPAFxfi_Jj_rK04YD1QZL6Z4KZb2XVk9Y7FaaxV1hyphenhyphen4OMFc9lQ_SCbHOPf17tL-a78OYBvUePM9mlRTI8mlhI9bcidwnCh/s1600/%253D%253Futf-8%253FB%253FUmFuZGJ1cmctMjAxNDAxMDEtMDA2MDEuanBn%253F%253D-754447"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgek4CtmS9dSSCf9XDnwmYchZ5cMfexuV61ctsBi69AgHAz7mMPAFxfi_Jj_rK04YD1QZL6Z4KZb2XVk9Y7FaaxV1hyphenhyphen4OMFc9lQ_SCbHOPf17tL-a78OYBvUePM9mlRTI8mlhI9bcidwnCh/s320/%253D%253Futf-8%253FB%253FUmFuZGJ1cmctMjAxNDAxMDEtMDA2MDEuanBn%253F%253D-754447" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5964253387142901666" /></a></p>Wishing all of you on blogdom a happy and prosperous 2014.
<br>We spent the evening at my sister's friends house. We just made midnight but I made up for it by having a special dinner and a small bottle of bubbly this evening!
<br>I have spent a long time deciding on my word for 2014 and has not made any decision until inspiration struck this morning. I have chosen the word SURRENDER. Firstly I really need to learn to hand any issues over to God nd then allow him to heal them. I always tend to try to solve everything on my own and not trust God to help. Secondly there are certain things in my life which I just need to let go of. I briefly thought of release but surrender seemed to encompass both.
<br>So here's to a wonderful 2014!

My hunting is going slowly for the <a href="http://gallorganico.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">scavenger hunt</a>. I have a few photos. Got a few more ideas but just got to get there to take them!<br />
<br />
This one is for number 9 a photo with someone who is out of place or doesnt belong. I am not so sure if this comes out in the photo, but I came out of the bakery early one morning and in the dark it looked like a giraffe standing in the road. It was of course tied onto the truck, but from the angle I was in you couldnt really see that. By the time I had fetched my phone from the car, it had lightened up a little, but I think it still looks a bit like it is in the road. That is if you ignore the faint bit of the rope tying it on that you can see.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The moment I saw that a mosaic (14) was included I knew exactly which photo I would take. This mosaic is on a wall in a local shopping centre. Although I say shopping centre, there is really just a SPAR, a hairdresser, video shop and loads of restaurants which I guess is where the theme of the mosaic came from. You would never know that this wall actually hides the entrance to the toilets! If you look very closely you can see the signs on the wall behind the mosaic on the left hand side.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

\On Friday I made a flying visit to Gateway to buy a pair of pants for a function and happened to walk past the Barnyard theatre. When I saw the item of performing theatre (2) I thought I would have to make a special trip to town to get one, but forgot about the Barnyard. It has been at the centre since it opened and attracts many awesome shows. Inside it is like a farmhouse, and is set out downstairs with tables so that you can bring a picnic supper. They do do meals too,but you have to order in advance. The picture isnt great since it was a bit dark, but here it is anyway!</div>

Just to prove that this is a family affair when Brenda went to the airshow yesterday with a friend I sent her with a list of 4 photos she had to take (airplane, tower, police/fire truck, and someone taking a nap). She only managed to come back with 2, but that is ok! She did take a few versions of each.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

No 15 a fire truck/police car. Here we have 2 different police cars.</div>

I could also have taken one of the police car that arrived after our neighbours house was broken into yesterday, but thought that might be a bit insensitive! Fortunately no-one was home, but in 7 minutes virtually all the movable electrical equipment that was in the house was taken. Oh, and before you remark that our police are quick to get there: that was the security company that took 7 minutes the police were a LOT longer than that.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
No 4 an airplane. Here we have 3 photos. I had hoped for a shot of one in the air, but alas it seems the message was confusing. Brenda thought I wanted a close up and spent a long time trying to get close enough to take one, lol. I love this first one, even if you cant see all of the plane. To me it looks like the photo could have been taken in the 70s with the slightly faded colours and the old looking plane.</div>

This week I have a few things to smile about. <br />
<ol>
<li><blockquote class="tr_bq">
the plants above. There are 2 on a neighbours property and I have personally never seen anything like them, but have thoroughly enjoyed watching them develop. They started off as a but then that long, hairy "stick" grows out and gets longer, and longer. They eventually became quite phallic, lol, but then the stick became so heavy that they start to droop over. Initially I thought that looked a bit like a ducks head and neck with the dark green at the end, but I guess you have to use your imagination for that lol. THe stick becomes heavier and heavier and then the other day I noticed the other one had fallen off with the weight of it. I guess I will have to wait for next year to see if it all happens again.</blockquote>
</li>
<li><blockquote class="tr_bq">
Secondly, we had our graduation yesterday. This is a very fraught time of year and since I am the "program director", (fancy name for MC), it is worse for me. It went off well and I can forget about it for another year.</blockquote>
</li>
<li><blockquote class="tr_bq">
The school holidays are over! I always hate the holidays when I am working and the older Brenda gets the worse it is. My parents end up ferrying her around and there is always clashes between her plans and theirs, lol. So, its back to school on Monday, and things should settle down into a routine again. </blockquote>
</li>
<li><blockquote class="tr_bq">
I have finally found a white dress for Brenda to wear for her choir compet!ition. Every dress we saw was either too short or too low in the front or both, but finally I borrowed one from one of my students and it fits perfectly! I am not sure what Brenda thinks of it, but so long as it covers her from knee to shoulders I dont care lol.</blockquote>
</li>
<li><blockquote class="tr_bq">
Last but not least our cat has returned! He often dissapears for a day or 2, but this time it was 10 days. I had almost given up on him, but he strolled in last night as if nothing had happened!</blockquote>
All in all a good week! Pop over to <a href="http://wipso-astitchintime.blogspot.co.uk/">Annie's blog</a> to share some more smiles!<br />

<br />
<br />
Having not done any crafting for ages in December I felt the need to start knitting. I used to be a prolific knitter years ago bu!t haven't knitted much since Brenda was born. Since it is not fun knitting in 40C heat, I dug out a <a href="http://www.jeangreenhowe.com/christmas.html">Jean Greenhowe book</a> that I ordered from the UK about 6 years ago and have never used, and started knitting these snowpeople. As you can see it took me 6 months to finish them, but they are finally done. Despite the fact that Mr. Frosty in particular keeps falling (he is precariously propped up against his wife here) I absolutely love them. They may even become a permanent item!<br />
When Brenda was a baby she was given a beautifully knitted scarecrow and scarelady by Mrs Bell, the receptionist at the hospital I trained at. (Sam and Sally on <a href="http://www.jeangreenhowe.com/scarecrow.html">this page</a>) They were very detailed and absolutely gorgeous, and we have kept them very safe. I never thought I could knit something like that, but now have discovered that although very intricate with lots of tiny pieces, they are not that difficult. You may see more knitted toys appearing on here, although I am not really sure what I would do with them afterwards, lol.Tracyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02569476871548177182noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6824996057166638084.post-5233961036113013672013-07-05T19:06:00.000+02:002013-07-05T19:15:09.417+02:00This weeks smilesI haven't done this in a while, but it is something I used to really enjoy, so here goes.<br />
I have two photos this week which have made me smile, both of them sent to me by other people. The first arrived today of my sister and <a href="http://www.tracyscraftycorner.blogspot.com/2011/09/learn-something-new-every-day-14-6.html#comment-form">Jaden,</a> I smiled because my sister is looking so relaxed and happy. I know that for various reasons this has been a tough year for her. However there is hope that some of the issues will be resolved, so things are looking good. Secondly, this is the first photo I have seen of Jaden where he looks like a little boy without that baby look. It makes me sad that I havent gotten to see him for a while! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW1EqGOe0A2ZGA_CsMgIMjkPSayP6MKQUEOnxMfFx-a4F5VY_muAAArHu9Yc8snx7yeQ3sItb2XjyeMxpE1gfaAbVvZdiQs9oYKsCwgqJM9vSK6-3SY960gvn5VZp2tP1-kBP6oe-palGT/s1600/daylejaden.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW1EqGOe0A2ZGA_CsMgIMjkPSayP6MKQUEOnxMfFx-a4F5VY_muAAArHu9Yc8snx7yeQ3sItb2XjyeMxpE1gfaAbVvZdiQs9oYKsCwgqJM9vSK6-3SY960gvn5VZp2tP1-kBP6oe-palGT/s400/daylejaden.jpg" style="cursor: move;" unselectable="on" width="400" /></a></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The second photo was sent to me by my Brenda and is of her and her friends at the Japenese Gardens. This holiday I have hardly seen her she has been out almost every day at one or other friends. When I look at this photo and the one above I really can't believe how quickly time has gone. Just the other day she was as small as Jaden! Brenda is the one in the front in the middle. Oh, and sorry I just have to gloat a bit. This photo was taken on the 21st June, i.e the start of winter here in the southern hemisphere. Not many places in the world can you wear vests on the first day of winter.</div>

<br />
Buddy has been part of our lives since 1998. He arrived as a tiny kitten who walked across our living room floor. We have no idea where he came from or how he got there. When we tried to catch him he ran under our sideboard and stayed there for about a week. We used to slide a saucer with milk or food under the sideboard and you would just see this little pink tongue come out and lap it up. Even if we wanted to, we couldn't have got rid of him ... my father even got bitten trying to drag him out. <br />
We named him Buddy because my mum and I were watching a movie about an orphaned gorilla named Buddy who was bought up by a woman when he arrived.<br />
Even when he ventured out he remained very scared and half wild for quite a few years. He would dissappear for days on end, only coming back occasionally for food. He was also well known in our neighbourhood and had his regular food stops. As he became older he became my companion at night whilst I was on the computer. He would come and sit on the keyboard until I would give him extra food in desperation. After that he would sit next to me. Since I have been studying he has been my constant companion at exam time. As soon as the books came out he would settle himself down right on top of them, really it is a wonder I ever passed everything. <br />
Over the last year he has slowly started to appear older and frailer. He was still able to roam around the neighbourhood visiting his friends (and getting food), but had become much slower and fragile looking. On Monday night I noticed a lump on his neck which had gone by yesterday. However last night his neck started oozing pus. We took him to the vet who diagnosed an abscess, but unfortunately, although they tried, he had to be put down. I really am going to miss him, but I guess that 15 is a ripe old age for a cat. Sleep well my old man.Tracyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02569476871548177182noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6824996057166638084.post-84887670102929264832013-07-01T20:33:00.001+02:002013-07-01T20:33:20.488+02:00New family member!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Our last big dog had to be put down about 2 years ago and then last year our other dog died, leaving us with only one dog. Whilst it is certainly much easier with one, there are often periods when our dog is on her own for a lot of the day, so we thought it would be nice to have a companion. Recently Brenda heard of a school friend who had to get rid of a 2 year old Golden Retriever since they were moving, and we decided to take her. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Magic arrived on Saturday and is absolutely gorgeous. Really friendly and has settled down quickly.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Unfortunately our <a href="http://tracyscraftycorner.blogspot.com/2011/07/strange-cat.html">one cat</a> is not as happy and dissapeared last night. We spent about an hour trying to get her down from our tree. That was until our <strike>moronic</strike> nice neighbour arrived with his bull terrier off the lead and uncollared, to see what was happening. That of course meant the bull terrier attacked the tree and the cat climbed higher! This was all at 11pm last night and me with a broken toe running around in pj's and slippers! We eventually gave up and went to bed hoping for the best. Fortunately she appeared this morning and we have kept her locked up inside for the day, much to her disgust. Hopefully things will settle down soon!</div>

Although I have been around on Facebook I havent had much time to do anything else. Been busy with a work project (finished for now), studying for my degree (3 modules to do at the end of the year), and <strike>forcing </strike>gently encouraging Brenda to study for her exams. She has to choose subjects this year and since they will only allow her to do a subject if they get above 70% in it, she has to do well. I have been checking blogs, but not commenting much and have done very little crafting at all.<br />
<br />
Whilst checking a couple of blogs out recently I noticed that Rinda's <a href="http://gallorganico.blogspot.com/2013/05/2013-summertime-photography-scavenger.html">summertime photo scavenger</a> hunt has started. This is something that I really enjoy. Considering I have taken exactly 15 photos this year on my phone and none on my main camera, I thought I should definitely join in again! I seriously haven't done much this year with all my commitments but yesterday I took Brenda to a local student expo looking for career ideas etc and came across this sign on a fried chicken stall. I vaguely remember having seen the saying before but it made me laugh anyway. So, without further ado, my first photo for the 2013 scavenger hunt.<br />
<br />
#7 A sign that is funny<br />

<br />
<br />
The day was warm, although a bit rainy and we did get quite a few ideas for what she would like to do, although I think she is still a bit confused.<br />
<br />
One thing she would love to do though is this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitk_KP-sAmIr8oXehyFhEyjAUTW85cYne__-BUhss-Q9aVBoNAaNM85gPfpQ9bP_ttFXFY4OHg638cWPvTb45G5UsBWnKFdGa-NsfDoZnO4eJafXaWTWlaKN2G5wxbAF3OngjbMDTxHTP0/s1600/IMG-20130622-00365.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitk_KP-sAmIr8oXehyFhEyjAUTW85cYne__-BUhss-Q9aVBoNAaNM85gPfpQ9bP_ttFXFY4OHg638cWPvTb45G5UsBWnKFdGa-NsfDoZnO4eJafXaWTWlaKN2G5wxbAF3OngjbMDTxHTP0/s400/IMG-20130622-00365.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Sorry that the photo is sideways, I have no idea why since it is a portrait photo in real life, mmm.<br />
They had a flying school there and Brenda tried the flight simulator. I love the way this photo looks like she is really up in the air! She would love to do this, I however am still picking myself up off the <br />
floor from hearing the price!<br />
As for the hairstyle, apparently this is the latest fashion to have your pony tail on the side like that!<br />
<br />
Anyway, just to show you how unpredictable our winter weather is, when we arrived it was overcast, half an hour later it was raining. When we left we went down to the beach for an ice-cream and it was like this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibKxD6MUQw9u0CwYdT5LWZixgx-cdDLzpaeLQsScwmWOQfTXH0kaSzGU4gIApin86V8SwdnePBffwJpXlsIdIZW5dvxtqCKOBcUbcG9aWrkvUdLFj5N9jI0as9tYWProrcePHgb-xqeAUC/s1600/IMG-20130622-00367.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibKxD6MUQw9u0CwYdT5LWZixgx-cdDLzpaeLQsScwmWOQfTXH0kaSzGU4gIApin86V8SwdnePBffwJpXlsIdIZW5dvxtqCKOBcUbcG9aWrkvUdLFj5N9jI0as9tYWProrcePHgb-xqeAUC/s400/IMG-20130622-00367.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
(Once again, not sure why it is sideways!) Not many places you can eat an icecream outside the day after the winter solstice, are there?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I have two smiles for the day today. First one is a picture of Brenda playing hopscotch at Gateway. There were <strike>no boys</strike> very few people around, so I think "coolness" didn't matter last night. I guess they dont really grow up.</div>

The second one is a little joke I received on my phone this morning, which made me laugh. It pretty much sums up my relationship with exercise over the last two months :-(<br />
<br />
"It's time for your morning Aerobics .... take a Weetbix, crumble an Aero on top. There you have it........... Aerobix"<br />

Missed this meme last week, was just too busy. Fortunately after Monday the business should settle down a bit. Being in the courtyard of my old school last week during parents evening. The bench under the tree was my spot, <strike>a long time</strike> just a few years ago! Weird feeling to be at school again, lol. Another thing that made me smile was Brenda crashing on the floor of my office for 3 hours after I fetched her from a sleepover this morning. Unfortunately I was banned from posting the photos!
