Summer Photo scavenger hunt - rain

This is the rainiest winter I can ever remember. Durban is a summer rainfall region, but has a little rain in winter. This year we have had days on end. This week was one of those and I spent all of Monday trying to get a good photo but it was so heavy that I was scared to go out and take my camera in it. I did get a few, but this is my favourite of the raindrops on a nasturtium leaf. This is part of Rinda's summer photo scavenger hunt.

Summer Photo scavenger hunt - South African Flag

Despite the fact that the rugby world cup is just around the corner I have not seen the South African flag flying in many places and whenever I have I have not had my camera on me. This photo was taken pulling out of the car park at the shops today. The car was stationery and undercover, so you can see how strong the wind was! This is part of Rinda's Photo scavenger hunt.

Rinda's Summer Photo Scavenger Hunt

A couple of weeks ago I signed up for Rinda's photo scavenger hunt. I am not sure whether I will be able to get them all, but thought it would be fun to try. Since I joined I have been really busy at work and then laid low with an awful dose of the flu and not really had a chance to either take photos or blog. However, I am back and here is my first photo.
7. A decorated mailbox, but us non-US people can use a garden sculpture.

The moment I saw this prompt I knew that I just had to add this little guy. He stands outsides someones house about 15minutes from me, however it is a road that I probably drive on about twice a year, so dont see him much. I just love him though, I think he is so cheerful and love the little dog he is leading! Now, he is on an extremely busy road and so this photo was not easy to take. I had to stop on the other side and then wait for a break in the traffic to get him in. I took quite a few, but most had cars in the way. This was the best of the bunch. I only realised after I uploaded it to my computer, that he actually has the South African flag in the background, but you cant really see it, so I will take another photo of it somewhere else.
